Map

A small landscape park associated with Sculthorpe Rectory (NHER 21723) is shown on first edition six inch to the mile Ordnance Survey map (S1). The park is not clearly shown on the Sculthorpe tithe map of 1838 (S2). A west to east road crossing through the area of the park immediately to the north of the Rectory is shown on the tithe map. However it is coloured differently from other roads and may have been, or was about to be, stopped up by that date. A north to south road to the west of the Rectory had already been closed and planted with trees by 1838. Both of these roads are shown as extant on Bryant’s 1826 county map (S3). A smaller park defined by these roads appears to be depicted at the Rectory (labelled as Parsonage) on this map.
