Summary

A linear cropmark visible on aerial photographs to the east Leys Lane was recorded as representing a possible field boundary ditch. It is however clear from the results of a geophysical survey undertaken in 2010 that this cropmark coincides with the line of a modern gas pipeline.

Map

December 2012. Norfolk NMP.
An undated cropmark of a linear ditch is visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the east of Leys Lane, Atlleborough. It is on a different alignment to the field boundaries depicted on historical maps of the area, although it may relate to post medieval drainage. The ditch is visible on a southwest-northeast alignment for approximately 320m from TM 0466 9335 to TM 0490 9360, but since it is only visible on one set of aerial photographs it has been recorded with a hint of caution.
E. Ford (NMP), 11 December 2012.

It is clear from the results of a geophysical survey undertaken in 2010 that this cropmark corresponds with a gas pipeline.
See report (S2) and NHER 55760 for further details.
