The site of a possible former World War Two pillbox may be visible on aerial photographs alongside Baconstorpe Bridge, Attleborough (S1).The site is centred on TM 0429 9584. The aerial photograph evidence for this structure is uncertain, although the location protecting a bridge on the approach to a town, would be characteristic of this type of monument. The possible remnants of a road block, also tentatively identified on 1946 aerial photographs (S1), was dismissed as it appeared to be a bridge across a more minor crossing on 1970s aerial photographs (S2).
