The Ground Defence Operational Centre is a brick-built structure constructed in 1940. It is located in the former decontamination centre.

According to (S1) this building was for the use of unwounded airmen (as opposed to the annex of Building 33, NHER 59043, which was for the wounded). The building is a windowless single storey structure protected by substantial earthwork traverses.
