Full Description
September 2005. Walkover Survey.
Rapid identification survey of forestry land in advance of destumping (Compartment 61270 C1) [1].
Small assemblage of worked flints recovered on track (SF1). Several pieces, including a core, flakes and blades, were patinated and possibly Mesolithic or Early Neolithic in date. The remaining pieces were made of black unpatinated flint and were probably later Neolithic. These potentially later flints included an end scraper, blades and several flakes (some retouched).
See report (S1) for further details. The results of this survey are also noted in (S2).
Previously recorded under NHER 43206.
P. Watkins (HES), 22 April 2013.
