Full Description
(S1) Bryant's Map (surveyed 1824-6) marks 'Maudland' Bridge at this site. Acle tithe map (S2) marks 'Magdalen Bridges' at the same spot. The bridge (or bridges) crosses a siginificant watercourse that flows north into the River Bure. It is indicated on other maps but not named elsewhere. The origin of the name has not yet been discovered.
