Map

June 2013.
A survey in 1997 (S1) noted the presence of enclosure boundaries surviving as earthworks within Earsham Park. A substantial bank was noted leading northwards from the park boundary towards the western part of the Wilderness woodland. A flanking ditch was seen to the east of this forming the western boundary of a shallow terrace. This was cut by a curving east-west ditch at its southern end. To the north another ditch leads eastwards. The north-south ridge is cut by a slight bank and ditch further north; this continues westwards to the field boundary.
The survey noted that the east-west ditches look likely to be pre-park features whereas the north-south ridge and terrace are likely to be part of the park landscaping.
K. Powell (HES), 28 June 2013.
