Summary

In 2001 a number of post-medieval objects were recovered during the excavation of a cable trench. No archaeologically significant features or deposits were identified. Metal-detecting in 2004 also recovered items of predominantly post-medieval date, including a crotal bell, weight, shoe buckle, a lead bird feeder or powder measure and a number of musket balls.

Observation of trench dug for new electricity cable running between Bacton and North Walsham (Field 6).
No archaeologically significant features or deposits observed.
Unstratified finds recovered included:
1 post-medieval coin, 1 pottery sherd, 1 copper alloy button and 1 copper alloy unidentified object.

1 ?Roman or medieval lead ?pot mend.
1 post-medieval copper alloy weight, 1 crotal bell, 1 shoe buckle, 1 circular lead vessel (possibly a bird feeder or powder measure) and 5 lead musket balls.
1 undated set of lead weights with a vessel, 4 additional lead weights and a number of unidentified lead objects.
