Map

Pre 1916. Stray Find.
According to (S1) a large prehistoric flint core (described as a 'cone') was found on a trackway in Sparham Common by W. G. Clarke.

This core may be amongst the collection of Clarke's Sparham finds that is held by the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1926.32.64 : A). It is also possible that at least some of the other flints in this collection were recovered from Sparham Common. According to the museum records this collection includes both Mesolithic and Neolithic flints. See NHER 3019 for further details on the unprovenanced finds from Sparham parish.
