Summary

Metal-detecting between 2013 and 2016 recovered Roman, Early Saxon and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch; an Early Saxon brooch; Late Saxon strap-ends and a brooch; Late Saxon/medieval stirrup-strap mounts, a stirrup terminal and harness pendant; medieval to post-medieval buckles and harness mounts; a medieval/post-medieval button, thimble, hooked tag, and lace tag or aglet and a post-medieval harness mount and crotal bell.

Full Description

September 2013. Metal-detecting. Elden Tours, Field MB2. [1].
Early Saxon brooch.
Late Saxon brooch and strap-ends (S1). One of the strap-ends was declared Treasure in April 2014 (Ref: 2013 T630) and acquired by Norfolk Museums Service, Norwich Castle Museum in January 2015.
Late Saxon/medieval stirrup-strap mounts, a stirrup terminal and harness pendant.
Medieval/post-medieval buckle.
Post-medieval harness mount.
