Summary

Metal-detecting by Elden Tours between 2013 and 2019 recovered prehistoric worked flint, including Neolithic/Bronze Age flakes and blades; a Roman coin and Early Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an Early Bronze Age to medieval probable gold ingot; Roman brooches and a pair of tweezers; an Early Saxon sleeve clasp; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval furniture fitting, iconographic finger ring fragment; harness mount and harness pendant; a medieval/post-medieval handle from a chafing dish fragment, a copper alloy vessel leg and foot, a repair patch from a copper alloy vessel, a swivel loop from a purse bar, a button, and a sword belt mount; and post-medieval harness mounts, crotal bells, coin weights, pipe tamper, hinge, thimble, and a tone-hole key from a woodwind instrument.
