Summary

Metal-detecting between 2014 and 2017 recovered prehistoric worked flints, including a Neolithic blade and notched implement and Neolithic/Bronze Age flakes and scrapers; Late Saxon and medieval pottery sherds; medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons and Middle Bronze Age and Roman to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Middle Bronze Age spearhead fragment; a Roman brooch and key handle; an Early Saxon brooch; Middle/Late Saxon strap-end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval weight, ampulla, harness fitting, thimble, purse frame fragment, horse harness pendant, casket key, copper alloy vessel spout and lead spindle whorl; medieval/post-medieval weights, a spindle whorl and copper alloy vessel fragments and post-medieval crotal bells, spur fragments, a harness mount, cloth seal, hinge plate, weight and a pocket sundial or ring dial fragment.
