Map

Pre February 1993. Stray Find.
Found at TG 2553 0773:
1 ?Palaeolithic (or Neolithic) flint implement roughout, possibly a cleaver. Unpatinated and sharp. See drawing (S1). Subsequently donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2001.168.2).
The drawing of this object was produced by P. Robins (NCM) in 1993 and a copy was found at the NCM in 2014. Unfortunately a full written description could not be located, although a number of notes had been added to the drawing.

The grid reference listed places this find in what is now a large gravel quarry, although it is possible that it had been recovered before the pit opened (at some time after 1988).
P. Watkins (HES), 7 March 2014.
