Summary

A some time prior to October 2012 a Neolithic flaked flint axehead was found at this location. Metal-detecting between 2015 and 2020 recovered a post-medieval pottery sherd; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval tokens and a range of other, Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a medieval pot mend, a pendent loop from a purse frame; medieval/post-medieval trade weights, copper alloy vessel fragments, a bell fragment, buckle and copper alloy ring; and post-medieval buckles, crotal bells, book clasp, trade weight, spoon fragment, hooked attachment from a spur leather and fragment from a pair of dividers.

1 Neolithic flaked flint axehead. Sharp, unpatinated and unstained except for traces of iron staining. No evidence of use suggesting that it may have been a blank, intended to be ground and polished.
