Summary

Metal-detecting between 2012 and 2021 recovered an Early Neolithic flint flake; Iron Age, Late Iron Age/Roman and Early Saxon pottery sherds; Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins and a range of other, Early Bronze Age to medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undated copper alloy rod with flattened, pierced ends; an incomplete Early Bronze Age flat axehead; Roman brooch fragments, finger ring and handle from knife, razor or spatula; a Roman to medieval rove, copper alloy ring and unidentified copper alloy object; Early Saxon brooches (including a gilded silver disc brooch), a buckle, sword pommel, probable coin pendant, gold and garnet pendant and gold disc pendant; Early/Middle Saxon buckles, hanging bowl escutcheons, a mount, catch from box or bag, copper alloy chain link and copper alloy ring; an Early Saxon to post-medieval copper alloy ring; a Middle Saxon hanging bowl escutcheon, mount, box fitting, latch or hook clasp for box and copper alloy chain links; a Middle/Late Saxon possible spoon; a Late Saxon knife/sword fitting or ferrule; a medieval buckle and finger ring and post-medieval end cap from knife.
