Brick 'Arts and Crafts' style building dating from c.1903 located at Longmoor Point on the edge of Sutton Fen which was constructed as the country's first purpose-built freshwater laboratory. The laboratory was a private venture, funded by the Gurney family but available for all to use. Work there is believed to have ceased during the First World War and the building was subsequently used a residence.
