Map

October 1998. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
Apart from a single ditch of probably recent date, no archaeologically significant features were identified. A spread of fire-crazed flints was however noted in one of the trenches, lying at the interface between the topsoil and the underlying subsoil. A small number of unstratified finds were recovered during this work, including a Late Mesolithic/Early Neolithic flint blade, an undatable prehistoric flint core and 4 waste flakes and a single sherd of Roman pottery.
