Summary

In 2014 Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds were recovered at this location, along with several metal objects, including a Middle Bronze Age dirk or rapier, a Roman lead weight and a post-medieval steelyard weight. These finds were all believed to be from spoil that had been redeposited here from the site of NHER 59839.

The finds detailed above were recovered from soil that was redeposited here, at Compton Hall Pit. The spoil came from NHER 59839 and the finder is certain all artefacts recovered were from the soil removed from that site.
