NHER 60162 (Find Spot record) - Palaeolithic flint implement, Bunker's Hill

The Norwich Castle Museum holds a small cordate bifacial flint implement that is marked as being from Bunker's Hill, Weeting (unregistered). This object has a thick white patina and was identified as a Palaeolithic implement by P. Robins (NCM), who also noted that it may be from the J. S. Warburton collection.

The exact location of this discovery is not known - the mapped extent of this record simply reflects the extent of the area known as Bunker's Hill. This location has had this name since at least the late 19th century (being labelled as such on the 1st ed. O.S map). It should be noted that there are two former quarry pits on Bunker's Hill, one at TL 767 909 and the other at TL 769 910 (NHER 42575).
