Summary

Metal-detecting between 2014 and 2022 recovered prehistoric worked flints, including ?Early Neolithic blades, Neolithic/Bronze Age scrapers, a retouched flake and borer; Roman, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, Middle/Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval to post-medieval jettons; undatable copper alloy casting waste and various other, Early Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include undatable sheet copper alloy decorated objects and lead weights; Roman tweezers, a brooch and a harness mount; Early Saxon brooches and tweezers; an Early/Middle Saxon buckle; Middle Saxon brooches, several pairs of tweezers, pins and a buckle; Middle/Late Saxon brooches, hooked tags and a strap end; a Late Saxon brooch, sword scabbard chape, finger ring, harness link, strap end and unusual openwork stirrup-strap mount; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval mounts, a harness pendant, scale-tang knife end-cap, part of a pair of tweezers and fragment of probable censer or lamp lid, lead seal matrix and lead alloy weight and post-medieval copper alloy weights, a furniture mount and lead steelyard weight.
