Summary

A detailed magnetometer survey identified a fragmented linear anomaly running approximately north-northeast to south-southwest from the southern edge of the surveyed area. This appears to be a continuation of the field boundary which still exists immediately to the south of the investigated area, but it does not appear on the First Edition Ordnance Survey Map.

Map

January 2013. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometry of proposed development site (Area 1).
This survey identified a fragmented linear anomaly running approximately north-northeast to south-southwest from the southern field boundary. This appears to be a continuation of the field boundary which still exists immediately to the south of the investigated area, but it does not appear on the First Edition Ordnance Survey Map (S1).
The only other magnetic anomalies identified during the survey consist of furrows caused by modern ploughing, localised areas of magnetic enhancement caused by geological variation, and isolated dipolar anomalies created by the presence of modern ferrous material in the topsoil.
See NHER 60538 for results from Area 2.
See report (S2) for further information.
