Map

February 2013. Geophysical Survey.
A detailed magnetometer survey identified a large area of magnetic disturbance in the northern portion of the investigated area. The possible feature consists of a sub-circular region of disturbed and highly magnetic material approximately 60m in diameter. Due to the geology in this area, it has been interpreted as a possible quarry that has been backfilled with strongly magnetic material. However, historic maps do not indicate a quarry at this location.
See NHER 60542 for details of results for the southern portion of the investigated area.
See NHER 39648 for details of post-medieval pottery recovered from this area, including one fragment of malting kiln floor tile.
See report (S1) for further information.
