Summary

This was the site of a Roman Catholic chapel designed by Pugin and constructed in 1845. A watching brief in 2012 revealed brick foundations thought to be part of this chapel. The site is now occupied by the Church of our Lady of the Annunciation (NHER 48952).

A brick foundation thought to be part of Pugin's chapel was located close to the street frontage. Finds recording during these works dated from the mid-19th century.
