Summary

In July 2013 and June 2016 the excavation of test pits by Docking Heritage Group recovered Early Saxon, Late Saxon, medieval, post-medieval and modern pottery sherds as well as undated animal bone fragments, shell, brick fragments, nails and slag and a post-medieval clay pipe stem.

July 2013. Test Pit.
Saxon, medieval and post-medieval finds recovered from a 1m x 1m archaeological test pit by Docking Heritage Group along with modern material.
Finds include sherds of Early Saxon organic tempered ware, Thetford ware, an imported Saxon ware, which may be Badorf ware, glazed and unglazed medieval pottery, a post-medieval clay pipe stem, and post-medieval and modern pottery sherds.
