Summary

A new channel linking a meander of the River Wensum to the main watercourse was excavated by the Environment Agency under archaeological supervision. An earlier course of the river was observed in places but was not recorded. All deposits revealed during the excavation were deemed to have been formed naturally and no objects of archaeological interest were recovered.

A new channel linking a meander of the River Wensum to the main watercourse was excavated by the Environment Agency under archaeological supervision.
All deposits revealed during the excavation were deemed to have been formed naturally. An earlier course of the river was observed in places but was not recorded. No objects of archaeological interest were recovered.
This work was undertaken within a wider programme of restoration being carried out by the Environment Agency along the River Wensum.
