This section of the River Nar was largely back-filled and a new, more sinuous, channel was excavated as part of habitat improvement works by the Norfolk Rivers Internal Drainage Board.
The only objects of archaeological interest recovered consisted of five flint potboilers. These potboilers were recovered from the spoil at the easternmost end of the works and remain undated. No archaeological features were observed and other finds were limited to modern shot cartridges and agricultural fittings.
