2012. Building Survey.
Site of the former Wellesley First School which was built in the 1930s and closed in 2008.
An appraisal of the building was produced in 2012 when the future of the site was under consideration. The resulting report was submitted along with an investigation of 7 air raid shelters (NHER 60813) discovered in the grounds of the school in the course of works to develop the site for a new medical centre and residential use. The report describes the school, as built, as an enclosed quadrangle with hall placed centrally on the north side flanked by 2 entrances and ancillary accommodation. Class rooms were on the south and west side and storage and caretaking on the east side. The main hall was brick and pantile with other parts rendered and with painted timber boards.
See report (S1) for further details.
