Summary

A single large ditch was recorded in 2014 during excavation of foundation trenches for a new dwelling. No direct dating evidence was recovered, but its orientation indicates it was created in the medieval period or later. It has been suggested that this feature could be related to medieval landscaping at the manorial site of Snaring Hall (NHER 1577) located immediately northwest of this site.

Groundworks for construction of a new dwelling were monitored.
A single large, undated ditch aligned perpendicular to Shernborne Road was recorded. Although no direct dating evidence was recovered, its relationship to Shernborne Road suggests a medieval or later date. The ditch may relate to medieval land divisions associated with the manorial site of Snaring Hall (NHER 1577) located immediately north and west of this site or other medieval settlement and post-medieval extraction (NHER 17436) south of Shernborne Road.
Several modern garden features associated with the former garden of No. 15 Shernborne Road were observed but not recorded.
