Summary

The cropmarks of two parallel linear features are visible on aerial photographs. These may relate to a trackway with central hollow way (perhaps a precursor to Long Lane), or a multiple-ditched boundary.

Evaluation of proposed development site.
A trench that coincided with these cropmarks revealed two reasonably substantial corresponding ditches. Unfortunately no dating evidence was recovered.
