Map

March 2006. Desk-based Assessment and Walkover Survey.
Assessment of land at RSPB Titchwell.
A map of 1943, annotated to show World War Two debris, marks a "pillbox in earth and grass-covered mound" at this location (Site 13). An "earth and grass-covered" causeway is shown connecting this structure to another pillbox that lay to the west. This second pillbox is still extant (NHER 18073) and the causeway is clearly visible on aerial photographs taken in the 1945.
It is unclear whether any trace of the pillbox survives at this location, which was not accessible during the walkover survey undertaken as part of this assessment.
See report (S1) for further details.
