Summary

A post medieval field boundary bank, about 25m long, up to 6m wide and up to 0.5m tall. It is on the line of a field boundary shown on late 19th century map and may have been created at the same time as other field boundaries in this area (NHER 61090, 61091, 61092 and 61093). However, as it is just to the west of the site of Santon Warren warreners lodge (NHER 31170), it is equally possible it was originally built to define an enclosure around this building.

April 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
The post medieval to modern boundary bank described above may be visible as an earthwork on imagery from a recent lidar survey (S2). It has not been mapped as it is depicted on modern and historical Ordnance Survey maps. Its orientation aligns more closely with the boundary depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1 to 10,000 map, rather than the dotted boundary shown on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch (S1).
