Summary

A geophysical survey undertaken in 2012/2013 identified a probable ditch and a number of discrete pit-like anomalies that may represent archaeologically significant features. There appeared to be no evidence for the cropmark features that have previously been identified in this area (NHER 53240).

April 2012-April 2013. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey on proposed line of Norwich Northern Distributor Road (Block 52).
This survey revealed a short but well-defined linear anomaly at the eastern edge of the area examined. A number of pit-like anomalies may also represent archaeologically significant features, particularly as they are of a greater magnitude than the numerous geological anomalies present in the area.
There was no traces of the cropmark features previously identified in this field, several of which cross the surveyed area (NHER 53240).
See report (S1) for further details.
