Summary

Metal-detecting between 2013 and 2022 recovered a dispersed early Roman coin hoard comprising 48 Icenian silver units and 33 Roman silver denarii (all minted prior to the Conquest). It is likely that this hoard was deposited during the Boudican revolt of 60-61 AD

Found scattered over an area approximately 25 metres square:
Dispersed Early Roman coin hoard of 25 Late Iron Age coins (Icenian silver units) and 22 Late Iron Age coins of Roman issue (18 Republican silver denarii and 4 Imperial silver denarii).
This mixed is representative of the late hoards of this type, being dominated by 'Late Face Hoard' and 'Pattern-horse' Icenian issues. It was likely associated with the Boudican revolt of 60-61 AD.

This hoard was submitted for consideration as Treasure (Ref: 2015 T577).
Three coins recorded as part of this coin hoard record were previously recorded as individual coin records under NHER 45380 [2].

23 Late Iron Age coins (Icenian silver units) and 10 Late Iron Age coins of Roman issue (10 Republican silver denarii and 1 Imperial denarius of Augustus).
These coins are the first addendum to the coin hoard recovered between June 2013 and July 2014, which now puts the total for the hoard at 81.

These coins were disclaimed as Treasure and returned to the finder (Ref: 2024 T475).
Mapped extent expanded slightly to north-east. Previous extent recorded as Context 1.
