Summary

Metal-detecting in 2015 and 2023 recovered Roman and medieval pottery sherds; Roman tegula, flue tile and other tile fragments; undated copper alloy casting waste; Late Iron Age, Roman and medieval coins and a range of other, Late Iron Age to Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include Late Iron Age/Roman copper alloy bead; Roman bracelet fragments, a brooch and lead and ceramic weight; Roman/Early Saxon tweezers and a nail cleaner (found together and likely to have been part of a cosmetic set); a Late Saxon horse-harness fitting; medieval buckles, a strap loop, horse-harness pendant and copper alloy weight; medieval/post-medieval lead weights and a post-medieval button, coin weight and lead palm guard.
