In March 2016 a handaxe from Norfolk was auctioned by [1]. The sale particulars indicate that this object came with a collector's label reading "Palaeolithic Found at Aylsham Norfolk, c.7000-8000 BC". It was described as a broad handaxe in dark grey flint with damage to its tip. Apparently this object was from "an old American collection". See [2].

This object was put up for sale with another implement described as an axe of possible Late Mesolithic date. It is not clear whether this second object was also from Aylsham.

P. Watkins (HES), 3 March 2016.
