Summary

Metal-detecting between 2013 and 2020 recovered Late Saxon, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; a Roman to medieval lava quern fragment; Roman, Late Saxon, medieval, and post-medieval coins and a range of other, Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal objects include a fragment of a Middle/Late Bronze Age bladed implement; a Late Iron Age/Roman terret; a Roman zoomorphic brooch and terret; an Early Saxon brooch; a Middle/Late Saxon strap-end; a Late Saxon disc brooch and Anglo-Scandinavian copper alloy horse harness fitting and bird brooch; a Late Saxon/medieval Anglo-Scandinvian stirrup terminal; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a dagger pommel, harness pendant, padlock, suspension unit/holder for lamp or censer and lead alloy spindle whorl; medieval/post-medieval spindle whorls, lead weights, purses, a stylus, thimble and copper alloy vessel fragment and a post-medieval stud, possible sword belt attachment hook and pastry jigger.
