Summary

Metal-detecting between 2016 and 2021 recovered Late Iron Age, medieval and medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman and medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons and a number of other, Middle Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Middle Iron Age to Roman linch pin cap; a Roman copper alloy hairpin; an Early Saxon brooch; a Late Saxon harness fitting; Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorls; medieval dress accessories (including a gold finger ring), harness pendants, mounts, tweezers, a book clasp, furniture binding strip and gilt copper alloy unidentified object; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy staple and a post-medieval hinge plate, harness mount, unidentified copper alloy and lead objects, lead cloth seal and lead weight.

1 Late Iron Age pottery sherd.
13 Roman coins and a copper alloy hairpin.
15 Late Saxon pottery sherds and a harness fitting.
Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorls.
6 medieval coins, 1 jetton, 37 pottery sherds, harness pendants, buckles, mounts, a furniture binding strip, strap end, strap mount, strap fitting, gold finger ring with an magical inscription in Old English and gilt copper alloy unidentified object. One harness pendant is a copper alloy tin-coated example in the form of a wyvern, with traces of engraved decorative detail (S2).
2 medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds and a copper alloy staple.
2 post-medieval jettons, a hinge plate, harness mount, lead cloth seal and lead weight.
