Map

Early 2003. Fieldwalking.
This field is one of several known to have been walked by [1] at some time prior to June 2003. Unfortunately it is not clear exactly what was found. A map produced by the finder [2] suggests that a discrete scatter of Iron Age pottery sherds had been identified in the south-east corner of the field (if the colour conventions are consistent with those used on maps produced following surveys at other locations). A large area that is outlined in yellow on the map may indicate either a scatter of either worked or burnt flints. This scatter extended into the field to the south (NHER 61645).
Although the finder produced a list of objects that he had found near Dillington Hall [2] it is likely that this also includes material from NHER 61646 and NHER 61647.
