Map

February 2015. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of new outdoor swimming pool.
Removal of relatively deep topsoil and subsoil deposits exposed a single south-west to north-east aligned ditch. This feature had a broad shallow profile and produced a single worked flint of probable Neolithic or Bronze Age date.
The only other remains of note were the traces of a former cobbled yard surface observed during removal of the topsoil layer. This surface was associated with the adjacent shed and therefore of probable 19th- or 20th-century date.
No unstratified finds were recovered.
See report (S1) for further details.
