Full Description
October-November 2012. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development areas within Norwich Research Park.
The seven trenches excavated at this site revealed little in the way of archaeologically significant remains. A trench at the eastern edge of the site revealed a substantial waterlogged feature that produced a number of post-medieval finds. The nature of this feature was uncertain, although it may have been a pond. A modern pit and a thick layer of dumped material were also noted in this part of the site.
A small number of unstratified prehistoric worked flints were also recovered including a large flake with possible 'bruising' of the kind often seen in Final Upper Palaeolithic assemblages.
