Summary

In 1983 the clearance of this building site between Holls Lane and Queens Road recovered a set of brick stairs and a sloping tunnel, as well as a circular shaft to the surface and a circular shaft off the tunnel. These were faced with flint panels with brick borders, and may be related to the kilns marked on maps from 1883.
