Summary

A light-coloured vegetation mark visible on aerial photographs in the vicinity of the Neolithic flint mines at Grimes Graves (NHER 5640) could represent an additional area of contemporary mining. Its interpretation as an archaeological feature is uncertain, however, and it could equally reflect an underlying geological feature, or a more recent quarry pit.
