Summary

Documentary evidence indicates that this piece of land was once situated on the edge of Little Fransham village common. The pightle is mentioned in documents as early as 1377 and by 1541 it was called Pytylacre and contained one acre of meadow. By 1623 the pightle is noted to contain a dwelling house. It is uncertain whether it would have contained a house during the medieval period, but this is quite likely.
