Map

February 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A dispersed area of possible fragmentary earthworks and vegetation marks, possibly indicating an enclosure and trackway, but of uncertain origin and archaeological significance may be visible on the aerial photographs (S1-S4) and to a lesser extent on the 0.5m resolution lidar data imagery (S5).
Within the northern part of the site is a trackway and a possible enclosure. However it must noted that the eastern and western ‘sides’ could well be formed by components of the underlying patterned/striped ground and therefore the ‘enclosure’ may be not be a coherent entity as mapped, rather a fragmentary group of tracks. Further possible fragmentary linear earthworks may be visible on the aerial photographs (S1-3) within the southern part of the site. However these were not mapped due to uncertainty over the origin of the features and their archaeological significance. Although large number of prehistoric and Roman finds in the area must be noted (NHER 35352).
