Nos 22-24 Magdalen Street examined as part of Norwich Survey.
Large three storey red brick development dating to the latter part of the 18th century. Off centre carriage arch to yard. Main building along street has 18th-century doorcase leading to central stair hall. The details are impoverished. The layout of rooms either side of an enclosed stair well suggests a speculative development of appartments, two per floor. From the yard it is clear that the stair of the street block is contained within a large external stair turret.
See record form (S2) for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 11 October 2017.
