Map

Site of Nos 91 and 93 St George's Street, now demolished.

These buildings stood on the northern side of the junction between St George's Street and Green Lane and were probably originally a single dwelling of 17th-century date. They had an unusual appearance due to the unusual arrangement of the gables, with one dormer in a near-central position, while another appeared to rise a further storey above and behind it.
Information from (S1), which also has photographs of the front elevation taken in 1936. At the time these photographs were taken No 91 was a house and No 93 a shop.
P. Watkins (HES), 15 November 2017.

See file for copy of photograph taken in 1943 (found in A. Carter archive).
