Summary

The brick terraced house that previously occupied this site were briefly examined in 1968, prior to its subsequent demolition as part of road improvement works. It was probably of 19th-century date and is likely to have incorporated a section of the city wall.

Survey of No 64 Chapelfield Road, probably undertaken as part of work by University of East Anglia (UEA).
Brick with tile roof. No date on house but potentially contemporary No 80 has date 1871 on water pipe. Cellar beneath dining room. Great thickness of rear wall suggested it may incorporate part of the city wall.
