Map

March 2017. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of new dwelling and detached garage in field to south of Downham Grove.
Although the stripping of topsoil deposits from the proposed development area exposed natural geological deposits, no archaeologically significant remains were observed. A single linear feature that crossed the site is believed to have been an active field drain of probable late 19th- or early 20th-century date. Metal-detecting recovered only objects of modern date.
See report (S1) for further details.
