Summary

An area of earthworks of uncertain date and significance are recorded from aerial photographs and Environment Agency 1m resolution lidar data. The site consists of a dispersed group of ditch-like features, some of which appear to form enclosures. However it is feasible that many of these relate to post-medieval and modern drainage works on the valley floor – although the high level of Roman and Saxon activity in these sorts of locations in close proximity to the site must be noted.

An area of earthworks of uncertain date and significance are recorded from aerial photographs (S1-S3) and Environment Agency 1m resolution lidar data (S4). Within the northern part of the site is an apparent angular mound and ditch – defined by an extent of area and not mapped – visible on the aerial photographs and lidar data (S1-S3). The origin of this feature is not certain and may relate to a former frost mound rather than a man-made feature – although it is feasible that it has been utilised for archaeological activity and/or structures.
