Map

May-June 2012. Walkover Survey.
Archaeological Earthwork Rapid Identification Survey within Church Wood (Compartment 2a).
A series of irregular mounds in an arc were identified at TF 87813077 (Site 1). These mounds are likely to be spoil associated with an area of propoble extraction to the west. A broad ridge up to 15m wide and c.1m high extends from the southernmost mound towards the churchyard. Its function is unclear.
There was no convincing evidence for the mound known as 'Catte Hill' marked on a map of 1590 (NHER 12585).
